The Indian stock market is expected to open in the green as trends on SGX Nifty indicate a positive opening for the index in India with a 97-point gain. BSE barometer Sensex is expected to make a dash to reclaim the 50,000 mark amid a firm set of global cues.

Besides, strong macroeconomic data and weakness in crude oil prices could also support the upside. India's goods and services tax (GST) collection surpassed the Rs 1 trillion-mark for the fifth consecutive month, touching Rs 1.13 trillion in February, indicating signs of improvement in the economy.

On Monday, the 30-share benchmark index ended at 49849.84 up by 749.85 points or by 1.53 % and then NSE Nifty was at 14761.55 up by 232.4 points or by 1.6 %.

On the global front, the S&P 500 surged on Monday in its strongest one-day gain since June as bond markets calmed after a month-long selloff, while another COVID-19 vaccine getting U.S. approval and fiscal stimulus bolstered expectations of a swift economic recovery.

The Dow Jones Industrial Average surged 1.95% to end at 31,535.51 points, while the S&P 500 gained 2.38% to 3,901.82. The Nasdaq Composite jumped 3.01% to 13,588.83. Asian shares are poised to rally on Tuesday as a halt in a recent bond markets sell-off calmed investor's nerves and lifted riskier assets, although oil prices were on the defensive on fears of slowing Chinese energy consumption.
