The Sensex and Nifty fell sharply on Wednesday as heightened tensions in West Asia drove crude oil prices closer to the $100-per-barrel mark, weighing on investor sentiment.
At 10:40 hours, the 30-share benchmark index was trading at 75010.54 down by -567.04 points or by -0.75 % and then NSE Nifty was at 23539.65 down by -95.45 points or by -0.4 %.
