Indian equity benchmarks, the BSE Sensex and Nifty 50, are expected to open on a positive note, supported by gains in GIFT Nifty, which was trading higher around 23,157 in early trade.
In the previous session, benchmark indices staged a strong rebound and closed with solid gains amid high volatility, as global sentiment improved following U.S. President Donald Trump’s announcement of a temporary pause on strikes targeting Iran’s power infrastructure. However, uncertainty persisted after Iran denied any ongoing negotiations with the United States.
On Tuesday, the 30-share benchmark index ended at 74068.45 up by 1372.06 points or by 1.89 % and then NSE Nifty was at 22912.4 up by 399.75 points or by 1.78 %.
On the global front, markets across Japan, South Korea, China, and Australia gained in early trade on Wednesday following Trump’s remark that sparked hopes that hositilies in the Middle East may stop soon. Japan’s Nikkei 225 and South Korea’s Kospi were trading 2.9 per cent and 3.05 per cent higher, respectively.
Overnight, the S&P 500 and the Dow Jones Industrial Average Index ended 0.37 per cent and 0.18 per cent down, respectively. The Nasdaq Composite ended 0.84 per cent.

Gross equity purchased stood at Rs. 10702.93 Crore and gross debt purchased stood at Rs. 5106.40 Crore, while the gross equity sold stood at Rs. 22002.35 Crore and gross debt sold stood at Rs. 733.26 Crore. Therefore, the net investment of equity and debt reported were Rs. -11299.42 Crore and Rs. 4373.14
