Indian benchmark indices, Sensex and Nifty, are expected to open flat to slightly lower on December 30, tracking weak cues from GIFT Nifty, which was trading marginally down at around 25,936.50.
The domestic markets began the week on a weak footing on December 29, marking the third straight session of losses, as broad-based selling pressure weighed on sentiment amid continued foreign fund outflows and ongoing geopolitical concerns.
On Monday, the 30-share benchmark index ended at 84695.54 down by -345.91 points or by -0.41 % and then NSE Nifty was at 25942.1 down by -100.2 points or by -0.38 %.
On the global front, Asia-Pacific markets mostly traded lower on Tuesday, tracking the continued tech sell-off on Wall Street amid AI bubble concerns. Nvidia fell over 1 per cent overnight, while Palantir, Meta Platforms and Oracle also declined.
Japan’s Nikkei 225 slipped 0.49 per cent and Topix eased 0.36 per cent. South Korea’s Kospi fell 0.41 per cent, while Australia’s S&P/ASX 200 edged up 0.19 per cent.
US futures were flat in early Asian trade after the S&P 500 (0.35 per cent), Nasdaq (0.5 per cent) and Dow (0.51 per cent) declined overnight.

Gross equity purchased stood at Rs. 3676.21 Crore and gross debt purchased stood at Rs. 71.30 Crore, while the gross equity sold stood at Rs. 5348.54 Crore and gross debt sold stood at Rs. 404.58 Crore. Therefore, the net investment of equity and debt reported were Rs. -1672.33 Crore and Rs. -333.28
