Equity benchmark indices Sensex and Nifty surged on Friday, snapping a four-day losing streak, in line with a rally in global markets. Sentiment improved after lower-than-expected US consumer price inflation data for November strengthened expectations of further interest rate cuts by the US Federal Reserve.
The 30-share benchmark index ended at 84929.36 up by 447.55 points or by 0.53 % and then NSE Nifty was at 25966.4 up by 150.85 points or by 0.58 %.
Sensex touched intraday high of 85067.5 and intraday low of 84734.96 The NSE Nifty touched intraday high of 25993.35 and intraday low of 25880.45
