Benchmark indices Sensex and Nifty fell on Monday due to selling in IT and FMCG shares and a weak trend in global markets after US President Donald Trump announced an additional 100 per cent tariff on Chinese goods from November 1.
The 30-share benchmark index ended at 82327.05 down by -173.77 points or by -0.21 % and then NSE Nifty was at 25227.35 down by -58 points or by -0.23 %.
Sensex touched intraday high of 82438.5 and intraday low of 82043.14 The NSE Nifty touched intraday high of 25267.3 and intraday low of 25152.3
