Indian benchmark indices opened on a positive note and traded with modest gains through most of the session, as investor sentiment remained cautious amid optimism over a potential US-India trade deal and persistent FII selling pressure. However, a sharp bout of late-session profit booking led to a reversal in momentum, dragging the markets into the red by the close.
The 30-share benchmark index ended at 83239.47 down by -170.22 points or by -0.2 % and then NSE Nifty was at 25405.3 down by -48.1 points or by -0.19 %.
