Equity benchmark indices Sensex and Nifty extended their gains for the fourth consecutive session on Friday, driven by strong buying in blue-chip stocks like ICICI Bank and Reliance Industries. Investor sentiment was further lifted by renewed foreign fund inflows, a strengthening rupee against the US dollar, and declining crude oil prices in global markets, traders said.
The 30-share benchmark indices ended at 84058.9 up by 303.03 points or by 0.36 % and then NSE Nifty was at 25637.8 up by 88.8 points or by 0.35 %.
Sensex touched intraday high of 84089.35 and intraday low of 83645.41 The NSE Nifty touched intraday high of 25654.2 and intraday low of 25523.55
