Benchmark stock indices Sensex and Nifty rebounded by nearly 1 per cent on Monday following value buying in IT and oil shares and a rally in global shares amid a drop in Brent crude oil prices.
The 30-share benchmark index ended at 81796.15 up by 677.55 points or by 0.84 % and then NSE Nifty was at 24946.5 up by 227.9 points or by 0.92 %.
Sensex touched intraday high of 81865.82 and intraday low of 81012.31 The NSE Nifty touched intraday high of 24967.1 and intraday low of 24703.6
The top gainers of the BSE Sensex pack were UltraTech Cement Ltd. (Rs. 11489.00,+2.39%), Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. (Rs. 1694.10,+2.12%), HCL Technologies Ltd. (Rs. 1723.05,+1.66%), Tata Consultancy Services Ltd. (Rs. 3495.35,+1.40%), Infosys Ltd. (Rs. 1623.75,+1.39%), among others.
