Indian benchmarks are expected to start the day on a negative note amid likely volatility on account of the monthly F&O expiry. Trends on GIFT Nifty indicate a negative start for the broader index in India, with a loss of 36.50 points or 0.18 percent. The Nifty futures were trading around 20,105 level.
In Asia stocks are broadly lower today amid concerns about slowing growth in China. Data showed China's factory activity unexpectedly weakened for a second straight month in November.
Overseas, on Wall Street, stocks edged lower on Wednesday as a robust upward GDP revision eased recession fears, while Federal Reserve officials' remarks raised questions about the duration of the central bank's restrictive policy.
In commodities, Oil prices fell in early Asian trade on Thursday on weaker-than-expected Chinese manufacturing data, but investors-maintained caution ahead of an OPEC+ meeting where production cuts are expected.
Meanwhile, extending a recent upward trend, the price of gold moved higher during trading on Wednesday, reaching its highest levels in over six months.
On Wednesday, the 30-share benchmark index ended at 66901.91 up by 727.71 points or by 1.1 % and then NSE Nifty was at 20096.6 up by 206.9 points or by 1.04 %.

Gross equity purchased stood at Rs. 15558.61 Crore and gross debt purchased stood at Rs. 1327.72 Crore, while the gross equity sold stood at Rs. 13772.14 Crore and gross debt sold stood at Rs. 887.87 Crore. Therefore, the net investment of equity and debt reported were Rs. 1786.47 Crore and Rs. 439.85.
