Benchmark stock indices Sensex and Nifty cut short their four-day gaining streak to close lower by half a per cent on Wednesday due to profit-taking in banking oil and metal stocks amid weak trends in global markets.
The 30-share benchmark index ended at 62622.24 down by -346.89 points or by -0.55 % and then NSE Nifty was at 18534.4 down by -99.45 points or by -0.53 %.
Sensex touched intraday high of 62876.77 and intraday low of 62401.02 The NSE Nifty touched intraday high of 18603.9 and intraday low of 18483.85
