Laser Power & Infra Limited has received a Letter of Intent (LoI) worth approximately Rs 4.15 crore from Himachal Pradesh State Electricity Board Limited (HPSEBL) for the supply and installation of High Temperature Low Sag (HTLS) conductors under a turnkey reconductoring project in the Nalagarh Electrical Division.
The project involves replacing conventional transmission conductors with advanced Aluminium Encapsulated Carbon Core Conductors (AECC), which offer significantly higher power-carrying capacity while utilizing the existing transmission tower infrastructure. The conductors will be manufactured in India by Laser under its technology partnership with TS Conductor Corp., USA.
The company said this is its first commercial order under the TS Conductor collaboration and is believed to be India's first commercial deployment of TS Conductor's proprietary AECC technology.
According to the management, the order marks a key milestone in the commercialization of its advanced conductor technology and strengthens Laser Power's position in India's growing power transmission modernization market, where utilities are increasingly adopting reconductoring solutions to enhance grid capacity and efficiency without major infrastructure expansion.
