The Government has extended the last date for filing appeals before the Goods and Services Tax Appellate Tribunal (GSTAT) to July 31, 2026, from the earlier deadline of June 30, 2026.
The extension comes in response to representations from stakeholders citing technical issues caused by a surge in filings on the GSTAT portal. More than 30,000 appeals were filed in the last 15 days alone, with daily filings peaking at around 5,500 appeals. The Government has advised taxpayers to file their appeals well before the revised deadline to avoid last-minute congestion.
