BCPL Railway Infrastructure Limited has received a new order worth Rs 4.62 crore from the Sealdah Division of Eastern Railway for railway electrification and allied works.
The project involves the design, drawing, supply, and erection of 25 KV overhead equipment (OHE), along with associated electrical works and modifications to existing OHE infrastructure. The work is linked to the extension of platforms at multiple stations under the Sealdah Division and is scheduled to be completed within 12 months.
Commenting on the development, Executive Director and CFO Uday Narayan Singh said the platform expansion project is expected to improve passenger safety, accommodate longer trains, and handle increased passenger traffic.
The company expressed confidence in continued opportunities within the railway sector, citing a strong pipeline of projects including EPC contracts, network expansion, new railway lines, addition of third and fourth tracks, and upgrades aimed at increasing train speeds. BCPL Railway Infra also highlighted its contribution to improving rail connectivity across various regions, including the North-East and rural parts of the country.
