SpiceJet has strengthened its fleet with the addition of five Boeing 737 aircraft, including one Boeing 737 MAX, taking its operational fleet size to 35. The move marks the airline’s 15th aircraft induction in just over a month, comprising 14 planes added on damp lease — including two 737 MAX — along with the successful reactivation of another Boeing 737 MAX from its grounded inventory.
All five newly inducted aircraft have already commenced commercial operations, enhancing connectivity across key domestic and international routes. This expansion comes as part of SpiceJet’s aggressive winter schedule, aimed at meeting rising passenger demand during the festive and holiday season.
As of September 30, 2025, the airline operated 100 daily flights. With the latest inductions, its daily operations have nearly doubled to 176 flights, significantly boosting capacity and network reach.
Commenting on the development, Debojo Maharshi, Chief Business Officer at SpiceJet, said, “SpiceJet’s winter expansion reflects the robust demand in the market and our readiness to serve it. With 15 new aircraft joining our fleet and daily flights rising to 176, we are not only growing our network but also reaffirming our commitment to reliable, affordable, and convenient air travel for millions of passengers.”
