Gold prices climbed Rs 220 to Rs 96,388 per 10 grams in futures trade on Friday, as traders built fresh positions amid firm demand in the spot market.
On the Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX), gold contracts for June delivery rose by Rs 220 or 0.23% to Rs 96,388 per 10 grams, with a business volume of 14,385 lots.
Analysts attributed the price uptick to renewed buying interest and increased participation by speculators.
