Indian benchmark indices, Sensex and Nifty, are expected to open on a positive note with a gap-up start, taking cues from GIFT Nifty, which was trading higher around 25,976.
Investors will keep a close watch on the final phase of Q2FY26 corporate earnings and the upcoming October 2025 CPI inflation data, which will provide key insights into the RBI’s future monetary policy direction.
On the IPO front, market focus will be on the Groww IPO listing and the highly anticipated Tata Motors Commercial Vehicles (CV) listing scheduled for today.
In the previous session, Indian equities extended gains for the second consecutive day, with Nifty closing near 25,700, supported by optimism over the US shutdown bill progress and a potential India–US trade deal.
On Tuesday, the 30-share benchmark index ended at 83871.32 up by 335.97 points or by 0.4 % and then NSE Nifty was at 25694.95 up by 120.6 points or by 0.47 %.
On the global front, Asian stock markets traded mostly higher on Wednesday, tracking overnight cues from Wall Street. Hopes of a resolution to the US government shutdown and a rotation of funds out of AI and tech stocks lifted sentiment.
Japan’s Nikkei 225 slipped 0.26 per cent, while the Topix gained 0.35 per cent. South Korea’s Kospi remained flat, but the Kosdaq rose 0.62 per cent. Australia’s S&P/ASX 200 edged up 0.13 per cent, indicating a mildly positive trend across Asia-Pacific markets.
Overnight in the US, the Dow Jones Industrial Average rallied to a fresh closing record, ending 1.18 per cent higher. The S&P 500 rose 0.21 per cent, but the tech-heavy Nasdaq lost 0.25 per cent.
