The Finance Ministry announced that a total of 1.11 crore new accounts were opened under the Pradhan Mantri Jan Dhan Yojana (PMJDY) during the four-month-long Nationwide Financial Inclusion Saturation Campaign.
In addition, the campaign saw 2.86 crore new enrolments under the Pradhan Mantri Suraksha Bima Yojana (PMSBY), 1.40 crore under the Pradhan Mantri Jeevan Jyoti Bima Yojana (PMJJBY), and 44.43 lakh under the Atal Pension Yojana (APY).
According to the Finance Ministry, the campaign, which concluded on October 31, aimed to ensure that every eligible citizen is covered under key government-backed financial schemes, thereby deepening financial inclusion across the country.
